View from our beach cafe

Okay, so the sky is grey and it looks very blowy - this is northern Europe and it's the north sea!! Overlook all of that and what you see here is the view from the beach cafe where we had lunch. In the distance are our and our friends' children, playing on the sand. This is Scheveningen beach and we love these cafes - if you are a visitor over the next few months, it is very likely we'll be bringing you here!

Anyway, people adapt over here - with blankets to keep us warm it felt like 80 degrees. As Richard once said on another, recent, sunny day, "we could be in the Caribbean" (apart from the container ships and oil rig in the distance, that I kindly pointed out to him).
