Mom, let me see if you like butter

You can bet my chin lit up with yellow.

Had the most wonderful hike with my boys today. We attempted, once again, to visit the Bat Caves (a hike Isaac and I did a few times in college) and although we didn't find the Caves, we did make it to the Oyster Dome lookout which was scary and spectacular at the same time. Isaac and I were blown away with how many people (almost all college kids) were up at the dome. When we came up 12 years ago, we had a picnic on the huge rocks, just the two of us. The trail has obviously grown in popularity. In talking to a few people, it sounds like they have removed access to the Bat Caves, so we were only able to look over the edge of the cliff at them below. I have included a picture of them in my Flickr album of our day. A challenging hike at 5 miles roundtrip and about a 1200ft elevation climb in only 2.5 miles but it was just what I was looking for in our trek today. I was so proud of Alex and his strong little legs. Both daddy and I only had to turn into Superheros a few times where we would strap all 43lbs of him to our bodies and haul him up some of the steepest inclines. Talk about a leg workout!
