A palace? No a railway station
Rossio. In Lisbon.
It's nowhere near as interesting inside. But as you walk down Avenida da Liberdade, it certainly stands out.
I'm here for a week's city break. Flights were cheaper than the Algarve or anywhere well known to be sunny and our first day has been terrific.
I bought a BBC "Talk Portuguese" book and Cd and I have been practising. My friend was quite impressed. And I was very relieved when we ended up with the two small beers I'd hoped for.
If you've never visited Portugal's wonderful capital city, then put it on your list. I first came here nearly 20 years ago with my wonderful husband. It gets better.
