Mother hen!

In a street in central Doha we came across this hen and her brood running along the pavement this morning. It reminded us of how the nomadic roots of the Qataris are not as far away as you might think. Keeping poultry alive until required as food prevented costly refrigeration in the pre-electric days. Old habits die hard.
