Baptism

"And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptised and wash your sins away, calling on his name." Acts 22:16

Today's picture is of a baptism pool that has been being built at Church. It is sitting at the side, waiting for someone to be baptised!!! This is very exciting, and something I believe in, that we have been called to be baptised in water as well as the Holy Spirit. I got baptised as a teenager and it meant a lot to me to make my own decision to follow Christ and to be baptised. My parents obviously encouraged me and gave me opportunities, but it was my decision, not one that they made for me when I was a baby. There were so many Bible verses I could have chosen from the New Testament about being baptised in water. Verses about it being likened to dying with Christ, commandmets from Jesus to be baptised, examples of Jesus being baptised by John and being obedient, verses that tell us this is the way to the Kingdom of God. But I chose this verse, as I liked the phrase "What are you waiting for", this was Paul talking in Acts, and I agree, what are you waiting for?
