The Grizzly Cactus In Bloom
This is a sampling of what a section of the grizzly prickly pear cactus looks like in bloom as I have been seeing it. Not as one flower or two or three at a time. But as the entire cactus blanketed with flowers. It's been gorgeous.
The cactus itself is about four feet long and about three feet wide. I grew it by sticking a single pad in the ground seven years ago and just letting it grow. It's been an amazing adventure watching it get larger and more beautiful every year.
(These flowers are all on one pad!)
