Suspiciously, university life here has so far gone pretty smoothly in comparison to Spain but of course what would Erasmus life be without some mid-semester course swapping. Myself and another girl from Edinburgh had been to talk to one of of lecturers about the course and whether she could cut down our reading list slightly as Italian was not our first language and reading modern Italian can be enough of a challenge without first of all translating from medieval Italian. She was in disagreement with this, apparently she expects us to all of the reading and will in fact mark us in the same way she'd mark an Italian student. Bearing in mind this is an oral exam, I think thats a little unfair. The other students have about 20 years of Italian experience on us. Anyway essentially she managed to scare us off the course and on to a language course which only has one two hour lesson a week. Not bad at all.
On the way back from speaking to the lecturer of the language course, we stopped by the main campus only to find that it seems to have been turned into a Design Week exhibit. There's stuff everywhere, from a giant mesmerising screen in the middle of the courtyard, to the giant colourful ball light next to it, to the random guy dressed all in black who felt he'd get into the spirit of things and perform some sort of modern dance in front of the screen. They were also giving out free espresso, so it was quite a nice place to go and sit in the sun!
