Bird on the Roof

I liked this shot of the Egret so I want to dedicate it to Eli.

On our first night on Saturday we went out to the pool for a glass of wine and to watch the sunset. Very civilised until I discovered that the additional security bar on the pool door had slipped down and locked us out of the Villa! I could open the door about an inch but all that did was set off the alarm which made the situation worse.

Everything - keys, contact details etc - were inside, so I was well and truly locked out with no obvious solution. Also due to the time difference we had been on the go for about 20 hours and feeling tired.

The only person I could find at home was Eli a couple of doors down. He came along with a long piece of wire and a pair of pliers. He gradually shaped the wire into somthing whihc would slide along the bottom of the pool door and contact the bar. It took a long time with lots of adjustments but eventually he got a bit of movement on the bar and I was able to slide the door open sufficiently to squeeze in.

What a relief.! So thats why Eli gets a big thank you, a Blip dedicated to him, and I'll deliver something else to him this evening to thank him
