Hercules

Today I spent some quality time at the Back To Nature Wildlife Nature Refuge. Fascinating to see the work they do.

Its certainly not a zoo and opportunities for pictures were few and far between. I saw an Arctic Fox, a Cougar, several Bobcats, Owls, Red tailed Hawks, etc etc.

Hercules is a Red Footed Tortoise. (Didn't see a red foot!). He was found at a residence in Seminole County and taken to a Pet Store. They recognised it as a non native species and brought it to the refuge. It has a unique shapes shell. It orignates in South America so cannot be released to the wild. Back To Nature has become his permanent home.
