All Saints church from the old graveyard opposite which I've featured before. A small plot with about 30 graves documenting the often very short lives of local residents from the 1850's and 60's mainly. It's surrounded by an Indian takeaway, plumber and a specialist engineering workshop. I find it a fascinating place.

The weather today was highly changeable, heavy rain and then spells of bright sunshine with moody skies.

I keep thinking about that plane that disappeared (probably due to the graves and the stormy weather)

HOW CAN A MODERN AIRCRAFT DISAPPEAR WITHOUT A TRACE?

Notwithstanding the unfolding tragedy in human terms, I heard Will Self say recently that he thinks people like the idea that you can escape the system - that you are not completely controlled and that it is still possible to ESCAPE off the 'grid'.

I think people perceive that we not only benefit from extensive forms of systemic monitoring but that it also restricts our theoretical freedom. This disappearance shows that this is not true - the system is flawed. But the fear is that we know it's only a matter of time until the noose is totally tightened. Forever.

I don't think there's a conspiracy but I think systems have their own life and power beyond individual control.

Any thoughts?
