Neuschwanstein castle

Woke up at 6am today feeling full of flu. Made it back home from Glasgow on the train and was collected by my husband and went for a drive to the picturesque village of Wylam for Sunday pub lunch. The drizzle had persisted so instead of making yet another grey photo, I thought I'd blip a photo from my trip to Bavaria last year.

This is Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria. It was built by King Ludwig II. Work started in 1869 and ended in 1892. It opened only 7 weeks after his mysterious death. The castle was apparently the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping beauty's palace.
