A Walk in Upper Coquetdale
It was great to get a good walk in the hills today, although a couple of cold wet showers caught up with us. Five of us set off up towards the border ridge and then walked back by Copper Snout to the valley, pictured here. It was 8 or 9 miles - up to the ridge then gently down to the river - but the sting in the tail was this steep pull up again near the end, before dropping down to Alwinton and a welcome half of Newcastle Blond at the pub.
Now I'm going to have to play hostess and cook a meal for the hungry walkers. We are having Basque Chicken with brown rice, peppers, olives and chorizo, a one pot dish so shouldn't take long. Warm bath first though!
