Red Hills Hut

Last weekend I stayed at Magdalen Hut, which sits in the middle of a grass clearing on the Boyle River. This weekend I stayed in Red Hills Hut - perched in the centre of native bush. A marked contrast in placement!

We walked up to Red Hills Hut - 7.5km and every step of it uphill - 930 metres up in fact! Up hill is NOT my forte so it was a struggle but hugely satisfying to get there.

After a very late lunch and a bit of relaxing we decided that we had it in us to walk a little further so we continued on down the track some of the way towards the next hut. Coming back we took a side track to the top of the hill (1055 metres) and looked down on the hut. Love the way it's hidden in the bush.
