Ol' blue eyes.

Feeling good about myself today. (I don't very often.)

Attended lifeguard training this morning. Didn't embarrass myself. Didn't kill anyone.

Went for a walk on the beach at home and found a gannet in distress. Called the ranger who was out unfortunately. My neighbour, Liz, phoned for help and soon we had effective company with a big net. Found that a length of plastic banding was caught up around one of it's wings. Another neighbour, Richard, produced a knife and cut the plastic away before releasing it.

Hopefully the lil' fella will be OK. The world could do with more Boobys!

Everybody was out today, making the most of the gorgeous weather. I also bumped into another neighbour, Irene, who was 'bagging the bruck', or picking up litter from the beach. She grabbed a small piece of netting, that turned into a huge piece as she pulled more out of the sand. It wouldn't fit into her bag, so I ended up lugging it home with me.

I'm exhausted now!
