Bus Challenge No 10!
A repeat performance today, and a trip to Bradford on Avon. It's a beautiful bus journey, following the Kennet and Avon Canal out of Bath, then across the border to Wilshire, past banks of primroses and fields of springing Spring lambs.
My return trip was due to the fact that I'd decided that the handbag I bought on my last trip wasn't really what I was after. Unfortunately the shop wouldn't give me a refund but would allow me to have credit, so I exchanged the bag for two carriers full of Happy Retirement/Birthday/Christmas presents!
After my shopping was complete, I went along to the Saxon Church of St Laurence (this link will show you an external photo of the church). There is written evidence that this ancient church was standing in the 1120s, and it is thought that it may date back to the time of St Aldhelm (d. 709). It is a characteristic Angl0-Saxon building, being tall and narrow with small windows. The church is still used as a place of worship, but today I had this beautiful little church all to myself...
