Low tide, Kenepuru Sound.

Took this late this afternoon, after walking the dogs to the golf club. PJ was up there (again) with his mate D & another chap, K. We got there about 20 minutes before they finished, so I walked a little bit further and there was this lovely view of the mud flats with beautiful lighting. Only had the little compact and the big camera with the 120- 400 mm lens on it.
PJ & D went across to the mussel farm this morning and did a farm inspection with a chap from the company that takes our mussels. Then they did ropes - this means pulling the crop ropes out a big bag, and taking all the ties of the rope, and re-coiling it back into another bag ready for re-seeding the next line. These bags hold approximately a tonne of mussels. They are about the same size a wool bale. There would be anywhere from 3000 - 40000 metres of rope for each long line.
I managed to check off another job off my list this afternoon, so progress. It was after this, I went walking with the dogs. Only trouble is, it is on the road, and they have to be on the lead all the time. They don't get to run around, all over the place, and I am sure my arm gets longer every time, by being pulled up the road by 2 eager little dogs, looking for rabbits.
