Active Frontage

In a conversation with an architect friend (not long back) I was told about active frontage. This is apparently where design for a development have at ground level entrances, windows and shop fronts, or really anything that people interact with. This as opposed to garage doors, brick walls generally seen in some townhouse developments.

Being either nosy or interested in architecture (not sure which yet) the structure of places catches my eye. Sometimes not in a good way. This is the third time in just a few days that I have found myself on this estate in Farnborough and today was one of those odd occasions that despite the bright sunshine, the active frontage of all these houses and being in the centre of a densely populated area suddenly there is no one around. And silence. No traffic. At times like these, in a slightly crumbling area it feels like a strange sci-fi dystopia.

Just perfect for a Lomographic 70's treatment of the space.
