Light and shade

Odd to see the fine pale coloured dust on our cars today. Odder still to know that it originates from Africa: sand transported from the Sahara on northerly winds. The news is full of stories about poor air quality in London and across the south east today. Drove into London for a meeting this afternoon and the view across the city from the top of Greenwich hill looked distinctly hazy.

Normally I'd take the train into town, but as I was due in Bath tonight for an event tomorrow it made sense to drive. Had a jolly evening talking about a shared enthusiasm for motorsport with others at the dinner table. I was fixated by this interesting mix of light and shade in the corner of the dining room. Remembered just in time to go online and pay the congestion charge for today's London visit before midnight struck!
