An early birthday

I received an early birthday present from Nanny C today! A bunch of carnations, 2 boxes of chocolates, and a little cake and balloon. Such a lovely surprise :) Dylan has sung "happy birthday" to me already and can't understand why we have to wait a week for cake, bless him. He also keeps bringing me the balloon and saying "happy mother's day!" I could end up with a celebration a night for a week at this rate yippee!

Today has been a GOOD day (I knew it would be after i saw 2 magpies having a good chinwag on the bridge on the way to work!). After a 10 month battle for justice with Europcar/Halifax bank, I took a call from the bank this afternoon to inform me that the money we had taken from our account has been refunded in full. Europcar charged us almost £1,000 to replace the clutch on a brand new car we hired in Spain which broke down after just one day. Halifax manually put through their charges after we had cancelled the credit card. It has been a long road to get that money back but I'm very happy we got there eventually. Such a relief! It became more about the principle than the money the longer it went on.

Dylan made a skateboard at nursery. One cardboard tube (the man) and one cardboard box plus 2 yoghurt pots (the skateboard) taped with masking tape. Karen put it under the pram to get it home from nursery and one of the yoghurt pots blew away. He was very upset, bless him. For the whole drive home he made me slow down everytime he thought he saw it in the road. "How can my skateboard work with just one wheel?" i did offer him an alternative yoghurt pot but nope, had to be the original. Ooops.
