Urban Decay - Victoria Mills
This derelict mill in Hunslet, Leeds dates from around the 1830s.
It is part of a huge complex known as Hunslet Mills some of which are still standing although all are unused at the moment. They are Grade II listed and have been earmarked for development into flats. They have had temporary roofing and windows sheeted up to prevent water getting in - although some of the sheeting looks a little worn.
This particular mill has been used by many companies and the last was one called R H Bruce - an ironmongery wholesaler and tool merchant. They vacated in the early 1970s and their sign still hangs on the front of the mill.
Some more shots of the mills can be seen here, including some of the detailed stone carvings on the facade.
