Shelducks

I had always wondered what these were as I had thought that they were kind of big for ducks. It turns out that they are neither a duck or a goose, they are larger than normal ducks and they have a colourful pied appearance. They are sociable birds except when you want to photograph them . They have a more rapid wingbeat than geese but their flight is slower.
