Lost little lamb

Lindsay and I had taken a trip over to the Hillfoots to the Coffee Bothy which is a farm shop as well as a cafe. As you drive up to it you pass fields on either side, in one of the fields there were a couple of men helping a sheep to give birth, so we parked up and went for a look . There were a few spring lambs not long born as they were still wobbly on their feet and crying out for their mothers. This little lamb had been leaning on the fence crying out for his mum but there was no answer, it had obviously been born recently as it still had the umbilical cord attached and was still covered in afterbirth. I think that the sheep who was being helped may have been its mother , we felt so sorry for the lamb it was shivering and desperate for a mother's milk. We went in for our hot chocolate and latte but when we finished we went back out to the field to check on the lamb, the poor wee thing was trying to suckle from a ewe who had two lambs of her own she head butted the lamb knocking him/her flying and then charged at it , Lindsay and I were worried about the lamb so we went back into the cafe to see if the could get in touch with the farmer to let him know what was going on , so we are keeping our fingers x that it will would be alright.
