Nicky and her Nikon

A long day

A long and tiring journey to get to Durban, South Africa - a 12 hour flight from London to Johannesburg and then another 1 hour flight to Durban. I don't trust checking the luggage all the way through both legs of the journey which makes this very tedious as we had to collect our luggage and check in again in Johannesburg.

Durban was 27C, hot and a bit muggy. Adam had an awful night feeling ill on the plane and so when we got to our accommodation he went to sleep while the rest of us walked to the beach to cool down with a swim. We then went to see my mum and while we were there Gavin popped out to the pharmacy with Adam to get him some flu medication only to be sent by the pharmacist to the doctor next door, who saw Adam straight away and diagnosed a very bad tonsillitis infection. The pharmacist kindly waited for Gavin and Adam to finish at the doctor so they could pick up the prescribed antibiotics from him before he closed his store as it was already late - now that is thoughtful service!

We had a lovely evening out to supper with the future bride and groom and my mum and now it is an early night after little sleep on the plane last night.

I will try to catch up with journals....
