April 2nd 2009 - First Sight

I woke up this morning after less than two hours sleep but luckily over breakfast everyone was in a bit of a state – either alcohol induced or for emotional reasons. We said our goodbyes (again) to Maïté and Sally and then headed to the airport ready to fly to the Galapagos. The blip had to be our first sight of San Cristobal from the plane, instead of the first thing we felt on the land – rain drops. It was not what we were expecting upon arriving in paradise.

We got pick ups to our houses (I was at Casa de Nelly) and, after sorting rooms, showering and naps, some of us headed into the town to go to the Supermarket, passing many sea lions on the way. Back at the flat we cooked tuna pasta and chilled out, revelling in where we were and the month we were to have ahead.
