Morning Sun Helps Melt the Snow.

The snow is gradually melting, but it is still not gone.

We had an all-time record 20″ snow depth on March 2 in Grand Rapids., beating the previous March record of 15″ in 2007. And, the most days-in-a-row with at least 1″ of snow on the ground at 106 days (the old record was 101 days in 1962-63). Muskegon set a March snow depth record at 24″ on the 5th, breaking the old record of 22″ in 1963. Grand Rapids was 9° colder than average in March with an average of 26.6°.

The groundhog saw his shadow.
