Jaipur - Monkey Temple
Today we had a city tour on the back of a rickshaw, where our guide took us to the City Palace, an observatory and the Monkey Temple for sunset. On our way up to Monkey Temple we were joined by our new-found friend 12-year old Ravi, who initially tried to sell us monkey nuts for 10 rupees. Once we managed to convince him we really didn't want to feed the monkeys (they screeched a lot), he accompanied us up to the top of the hill anyway, feeding the monkeys on the way and shouting at them if they got too aggressive with us.
The baby monkeys struggled to get hold of any nuts as the older monkeys took more than their fair share. Luckily this little tite got hold of one and devoured it quickly before the others saw.
Ravi was great fun, chattering along about school and his family (7 brothers, no sisters) and at the top he caught a kite, which both George and I tried to fly but only achieved laughs from the other kids as we yanked on the string to see it spin around uncontrollably!
