Bretton Lake

We left a glorious day in the south - shirt-sleeves weather - but the coats were back on by the time we reached the north where the sun was struggling to penetrate a thin mist. This is Bretton Lake, part of what is better know now as Yorkshire Sculpture Park. I used to swim in the lake as a kid.

Out on the island in the background is a magnificent heronry.
