The new arbour arrives ...
Question: is it still called a patio when it’s not attached to a house? If not, what is it called?
The previous owners of this house had a quite ornate patio laid, 12ft x 10ft, down at the furthest end of the garden. They had a single small seat on it, which looked silly. I would have rather liked a summer house but for the maintenance, which we are trying to minimise. So we compromised on an arbour that we can let weather and go silver. Our son popped round to help with the roof, and voila! here it is, ready for tea.
