A patch..
..one of those days when you have a list of jobs, and they take forever to do..
..normal morning chores, hens, cats, dog, walk, water, make tea for G (and coffee for me), and then breakfast. This seems to be becoming later and later.. Then reports of the met readings for the monthly newsletter, write up for the photo club, and croft 16. Then it's lunchtime. Start stripping the boiler down so N can weld a patch on it. This involved removing the pressure vessel, held on by a hook. Then the burner, held on with two nuts, but very awkward to get to. Fingertips, and constant swapping sides of the open ended spanner to get 1/16th of a turn.. Attach hose to drain the boiler and open the tap. Drips only. Google instructions on the computer, and still only drips. End up dismantling the drain valve to get any flow.. Chess at the school.. Back to draining the boiler.. Tea. N turned up to weld the patch on, then reassemble boiler. Turn on. Turn off again and mop up the leaked water.. A bit more welding needed on the right hand corner of the patch. Also turned the hot water stopcock back on, and it's wedged in the closed position. New valve needed..
These jobs will wait till tomorrow now. Until then, no hot water, no heating.
Camera club after as well..
Music..
but then I found this for the men!..
