Beautiful Day

The ballet last night was so fabulous. I could not do it justice in a few words. We had the best seats, a fantastic view and the music and dancing were fantastic. Curtain call after curtain call, totally magical.

Our hotel is parallel to the Opera House, and this evening before dinner we watched, from our balcony, a dancer warm up and rehearse before the show. We think it may have been Rothbart. It was truly magical to be able to witness this behind the scenes moment having seen the spectacle of the ballet last night.

We went to a fabulous restaurant for dinner; on the 17th floor, floor to ceiling glass walls, and we had a corner table! The chairs swivel so you can spin around and see the views if the city all around you.

We drank gimlets before dinner and Chris ate Viennese snails (I didn't!).

We wandered around the city during the day, it's so beautiful. We went to the cathedral and by chance the choir were rehearsing madrigals. We went to the big wheel which is like the London Eye only a hundred years old and as a result, rather petrifying!

We went to Seccession and saw Klimt's Beethoven Freize which was stunning but a bit too high I thought! I wanted to see it better!

A fantastic day.
