Eyes through the eye.
Or should that be I through the eye?
This rather alarming image is a self portrait taken through a spherical flask full of fluorescein solution. Fluorescein is a fluorescent compound producing a yellowish-green solution, and this flask is used to model an eye in Physics (optics) lessons at school and show how the eye focuses images on to the retina, and how spectacles can correct eyesight.
It is a large and heavy flask, and I'm always worried about dropping it when I'm moving it around the department. The shape of the flask has a curious, distorting effect on my face. It makes my nose look even bigger than it already is.
