Camellia
Last year we had a prolonged, cold winter, with our first snow here in the south-east of England in December, and snowfalls still occuring in late March. By contrast, this winter has been remarkably mild with no snow here (but plenty of rain of course - too much in fact).
One impact of this is that the Camellia in our garden is flowering a month earlier than last year. Many of the blooms are already dropping on to the lawn. But it is a very welcome early splash of colour.
