He might not be the prettiest of horses, but he is a steady fellow. A neighbouring farmer uses him to pull a cart laden with his wife and daughters (in full flamenco regalia) at ferias and romerías.

The mural on the cottage/caravan refers to the romería tradition where whole communities set out on horseback, in carts and carriages and on foot to a place of pilgrimage (in this case to the famous Nuestra Señora del Rocío in Huelva), where there’s generally a fairly solemn religious ceremony followed by an enormous, very non-solemn party!
