Northern skies

We went on a drive around the Snaefellsnes peninsula today and briefly saw this view of Snaefelljokull and its neighbours. The weather was ok today, but huge banks of cloud are rolling in tonight so there's probably not much chance of seeing the 'Lights' I think. Saw some stunning scenery, but we have a rather intermittent internet connection so it's not possible to put a better picture on as they're not transferring to ipad very quickly.

I like Iceland. Like the people, the food and the scenery, or at least what we've seen of it so far. One strange thing. As I said yesterday, there is a whiff, no quite a strong smell of sulphur from the hot water. This seems to have attached itself to my hair in the shower, so instead of a nice hint of Aussie herbs I'm getting definite off-drains smell when I turn my head quickly. Hmm. Very attractive.
