Bar-tailed godwit on Scapa beach

I keep a notebook when out and always note this bird as Bart, though it isn't very Simpsony.

I cycled through a fierce wind to Scapa pier to do my monthly oiled birds check (none found!). A few interesting birds about- about 12 kittiwakes, a Slavonian grebe in summer plumage, red-breasted mergansers, eiders, long-tailed ducks, a black-throated diver (first I've seen in Scapa Bay), three Barts etc.
