Shaving Brush Tree

The scientific name for this tree is Pseudobombax ellipticum. I have yet to find anyone here who knows the common name for it here, but a book I have on tropical flowering plants calls it a Shaving Brush Tree, which seems appropriate!
In other parts of Mexico I have also seen this in white. When the tree is blooming there are no leaves, so the flowers really stand out.
