Had a walk around Buttermere this afternoon. It was a beautiful day to be out in the Lakes. Misty had to be on the lead for a lot of it because of sheep. There was a sign on a gate with the words 3 lambs killed by dogs don't let it be 4 How very sad and irresponsible of people to let their dogs off the lead when sheep are about! I saw another sign reminding people that farmers will shoot any dogs seen worrying sheep. I have actually witnessed a dog off a lead pinning a sheep down at Buttermere a few years ago, the dog's owner got shouted at from the people around for being so irresponsible! The sheep was ok thank goodness.
