Cumbria Here I Come

Washed up log

This huge log was washed up at high tide a few months ago at Port Carlisle and I don't think it will be going anywhere for a while. What amazes me is the position of it, talk about log with a view and no doubt in the summer months when the Hadrian's Wall path walkers are about it will be put to good use. When I had Blipbear a few months ago he decided he wanted to try it out himself, so here he is blipbear

Its been another bitterly cold day today with no let up in the wind. Have been working this afternoon and had to go just over the border into Scotland where Langholm had no snow but Annan did but it is fading fast. I had a coffee and biscuit with some people I had to see in Annan and Bonnie was well looked after too. When I got home the phone was ringing and it was an old friend of mine who I hadn't spoken to in a while so it was great to catch up.

Most of the family in Clacton did a sponsored 7 mile walk this morning called Pier to Pier. The conditions were awful -2C and snowing so well done!! The event was officially cancelled yesterday but as my sister and niece are returning to Perth on Wednesday they decided to still do the walk. Between them they have raised lots of money for the St Helena Hospice who took such great care of my brother.

Hope you've all had a good weekend.
