Black-eared wheatear
The Roman city of Jerash is fantastic - a huge site with many well-preserved structures i8ncluding two theatres and two colonnaded streets.
It's a beautiful green, flowery site in the spring and there were a few birds there too, adding to the appeal. It took a while for me to identify the wheatears singing from the tops of Roman columns; eventually I decided they were black-eared.
