The Citadel at Amman

On this hilltop there are remains of Roman, Byzantine and Islamic stuctures and from it you can see down into the old Roman city with its theatres and forum. This is the Roman temple of Hercules and the hand and, to its right, elbow, are all that remain of a vast statue of Hercules that apparently used to stand next to the temple, visible from afar.
