Nucleus Wind Sculpture
At 9m high this Nucleus Sculpture has an impressive presence on the corner of High, Manchester and Lichfield Streets; visually prominent to both pedestrian and motorized traffic. It was designed by Phil Price in 2006 and has presided over Christchurch, before, during and after the shakes.
I've blipped this sculpture before. This time, as it's a sculpture that moves in the wind, I captured it with a multiple exposure, to try to give a sense of movement. It's a dynamic and eye-catching sculpture. Hope you like it!
I went on a walk through part of High Street today, with the Historic Places Trust, who have put together online an intriguing collection of stories, images, films and 3D models of the High Street precinct, which can be seen at www.highstreetstories.co.nz Fascinating stuff!
