Surgery
Trouble with an electronic organ is that bits occasionally ... die. Like the tiny contacts that make the pedal board work. Last week three of them decided their time was up - and there are two services tomorrow, and these notes were needed. A quick call to the organ people produced the speedy result of a very ordinary-looking envelope with three wee things in it (you can tell I'm not an expert) and by the time I got up to the church this afternoon the consultant surgeon (aka midgedancer) was giving the final tweaks to something in the bowels of the organ before telling the F1 (or whatever you call them - aka the organist) to close.
Our rector is a man of many talents, and it worked perfectly. Amazing what you can do with a bit of prayer and a soldering iron ...
