Evicted
Walking into the kitchen yesterday morning, I saw something scoot out from under the table out of the corner of my eye. As it scrambled up the bottom of the kitchen units and disappeared into the gap at the bottom of the dishwasher, I realised it was a mouse.
The last mouse we had was about five years ago - and that turned up the night before we were due to go on holiday to Rome! We couldn't find it, despite staying up much later than we had intended and had to wait until we got back before we could catch it.
I set a humane trap for it last night and when we came down this morning, the little gate was shut - success! We searched around for a jar, and then tipped it into the jar and I took a couple of pictures before letting it go over the wall at the bottom of the garden.
The rest of the day was shopping and sorting out the stuff which my daughter cleared out of her room and had dumped on her brother's bed. There's something very poignant about working through the childhood things which they have now outgrown, but which were once so important. If you have seen 'Toy Story 3' you will know what I mean.
Hope you have all enjoyed your Saturdays.
