Marsh Marigold

Giving a splash of gold on a dark afternoon, the first marsh marigold to flower in the pond shines out. There are about eight buds, so if they all come out together, they should put on quite a show.

The builders arrived at eight o'clock this morning, as promised. It didn't take them long to sort the hole in the roof out and it was just as well they did, or we would have had water dripping through the front room ceiling with all the rain that came down through the afternoon.

That was probably the most exciting thing which happened during the day. Mrs Mikey had parents' evening tonight and had a hard time from one particular parent, so was a bit down when she got in. She was so down, she couldn't even feel the relief you normally feel when they are over - although a couple of bars of galaxy syrup cake helped.

I was pleased with Spurs' display tonight, but they should have done better in the first leg. Makes a change from despairing!
