Visiting friends today in Worcester, I spotted this magnificent statue of King Charles 1 on Worcester Guildhall.

Worcester was a royalist stronghold in the civil war, so this seems appropriate. But does anyone know why the king is carrying a church instead of an orb? I haven't been able to find out.
