Paper mate

Since my beloved Kindle is now no more - an ex Kindle as it were - I've resorted to rifling through my bookcases for actual books. I used to have hundreds of them - James Patterson, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Jeffery Deaver, all sorts of chicklit, fantasy, bits and pieces of authors from every genre.

I gave a lot of it to charity when I went digital and just kept the series - Women's Murder Club, Kinsey Millhone, Belgarath and Sparhawk, Morganville and Harry Potter.

It's nice to get back to them, to stroke the embossed covers and feel the weight of the heavy paper between your fingers. To hold a literal page turner.

But it's a bugger when you're trying to eat your tea.
