Tower Bridge
I had my first day at Plumstead today. I was just observing and being shown the ropes so it was pretty relaxed and everyone was really friendly. Hopefully I'll be able to make friends quickly!
From there I headed to London Bridge to meet up with Ryan, one of my sisters friends from her Coles days. It was good to see a familiar face and do some socialising. We had a good night of drinking, laughing and eating before going for a stroll along the Thames in the rain to see London Bridge and Tower Bridge. I was suitably impressed with Tower Bridge, lit up and looking very regal.
I was also blown away by Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, more commonly known as the Tower of London, a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. 1066! That is SO freakin OLD! The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078, and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite.
Hit by the first proper english weather I have experienced -icy wind and rain- we called it a night! I got the train home and skyped with Damian before getting a good nights sleep.
