Evening light

I stopped on the way home from visiting mum in hospital to take this photo of Kensworth Church.

I love the roof, the two tone slates form a pattern of crosses of Lorraine within diamonds.

The Churchyard is carpeted in primroses.

Kensworth is an example of a Plague village. The Church and few surrounding ancient houses are more than a mile from the now main part of the village, which is where the inhabitants moved to, building new homes when the plague struck.

Plague villages can be often be identified if there is the name of the village + 'Church End' as in this case of Kensworth in Bedfordshire.
