And I was as wild, even wilder than they
A little detour I took on the way home today, made me sit up in surprise.
I drove a little used road to reach a high point - the clouds were amazing tonight - I wanted a mix of the black and the white and the downpour and the rainbows.
As I drove up the road, I laughed t0 myself as I remembered the walks we had taken up and down this road. There were different part of the road, which held memories.
The daffodils, the fields of wheat, the mud, the cows.
I remembered Boy scampering through a field of rape, while Tooli dozed in the buggy. I remembered Summers of sunshine, and noses smeared with sun lotion.
I remembered, early spring looking in the burn for tadpoles, and picking snowdrops and daffs.
I remembered chatting with mum's at the playgroup, laughing sitting on the grass... and the kids running around just loving life.
It made me forget about the horrible times in the village, and made me think, the kids did actually have a quite idylic childhood. I just hope we sheltered them from the worst.
