Melbourne Parkland???
Following on with my Melbourne theme of the past few days, I have to say I have been absolutely intrigued to see how people manage to live life in the "Big Smoke".
You could be forgiven for thinking that this lovely park like scene is on the outskirts of Melbourne. In fact it's located on the 10th floor of a 35 story building. For the residents who work in the city they have all the facilities they would want and could be quite happy to never leave the complex for their recreational activities. Even the seagull seems to be quite at home
I was fascinated to see that even the lawn is REAL lawn and the plants and trees are thriving in the conditions. The lucky sunbathers can duck in for a quick dip in the 25 metre pool if they get too hot, or if their feeling really keen they can take advantage of a fantastically well equipped gymnasium. Feeling hungry and want to have a few friends over for dinner - just take advantage of one of the 9 barbecues and picnic tables dotted around the perimeter of the park land area.
This week in Melbourne has been a real eye opener and it's the first time I have really had the time to explore so much of the city. Have to say, I'm more than impressed.
